A group of men who care about our community and share their money, time and energy to prove it.

Join us Friday, June 13, 7 pm
Big Brothers, Big Sisters offices, Skyline Plaza 900 Tower St, Fergus.
This quarter, we’re stepping off our usual path and focusing on something special: local non-profits that are making a real difference in Centre Wellington. These are the unsung heroes who might not have charitable status, but are doing incredible work right in our backyard. Here’s how you can help:
We Need Your Nominations | Know a local non-profit that’s doing amazing work? We want to hear about it! Maybe it’s a community group, a local initiative, or a grassroots organization that’s making Centre Wellington stronger.
How to Nominate | Email your non-profit suggestions to [email protected]. Deadline for nominations is May 26th
Include a brief description of the non-profit and why you think they deserve our support

Money Talks
Should I give a little or a lot? Yes. If you can give $100, please do. If you can give $10 that is equally great. Regardless how much you give, for our February and November events 75% goes to charities and 25% goes to build the “CW Men Who Care Fund” at the Centre Wellington Community Foundation for long-term support of our community. In June and October, we will be giving directly to nonprofits and not receiving a tax receipt. No matter how much or to whom, our goal is to build a community of men who have a quarterly habit of giving.

About People Who Care
The people who care model can be found across North America. Most groups connect 4 times a year and invite local charities to ‘pitch’ to the audience. Everyone in the audience combines their smaller individual gifts into one larger donation that goes to the charity voted on by the audience. In addition to giving away the funds those in the audience are learning about the work and impact that local charities have on their local community. CW Men Who Care is unique in that 25% of the money raised stays in the Centre Wellington Community Foundation which stewards that money along with their other funds.
Since our start in May of 2020, we have raised $20,000 of which $5000 is sitting in the CW Men Who Care Fund to grow in perpetuity. The $15,000 that we have given out has been received by 17 different organizations. Read about the People Who Care Movement in Wellington County in this article from the Wellington Advertiser.
