Our experiential approach means you don’t just learn about mattering with Four Simple Words—you feel it in action. Our goal is to leave your team not only with insights but with practical, actionable insights they can continue to reflect on long after our time together.

Each Learn, See and Become session can range from 75 minutes to full-day deep dives and can be delivered in person or virtually for small teams or company-wide retreats. Connect with us today to explore how we can customize one or all of these conversations for your team.

Stream 1: Learn

Start your equity learning.

In this phase, we help your team uncover the foundational concepts of mattering and understand why they are essential for creating a culture where everyone feels valued. By learning how to recognize the barriers to mattering within systems, participants start to see how these frameworks can be shifted to bring real change.

Conversations can include: personal reflections on mattering, the circle of trust and a deep dive into the definition of equity.

Stream 2: See

Better understand those around you.

This conversation focuses on developing the ability to spot patterns and behaviours within the organization that either foster or hinder mattering. We create reflective, interactive experiences that allow teams to see the invisible forces at play, from microaggressions to missed opportunities for recognition.

Conversations can include: the circle of power, blind spots and exploring which voices are being centred and whose voices are being silenced.

Stream 3: Become

Explore and take action on your equity next steps.

The final phase is about transformation. Armed with new knowledge and a clear view of their environment, teams are empowered to take action. Here, we facilitate the development of concrete strategies and behaviors that build a workplace culture where everyone matters—and everyone thrives.

Conversations can include: allyship, moving from shame and blame to responsibility and accountability and annual equity goal-setting.

Amplify Your Learning & Impact with DiSC

Listen to Curt reflect on the power of DiSC as a tool to start mattering conversations.

Proximity starts with personal awareness. A DiSC session will give your team tools and language to step into mattering conversations with grace and curiosity.

As a way to better understand ourselves, DiSC allows individuals to reflect on our own unique strengths, weaknesses and express how we want to be acknowledged and heard. The authenticity and understanding that comes from this collective reflection allows teams to share their wonders and worries about DEI through a common language. All mattering journeys start with finding proximity and DiSC is an extremely effective way to allow your team to connect in a way that will improve your communications, clarify goals and humanize your DEI explorations.

Training That Works

We have seen how facilitation can change the world…literally. We have facilitated thousands of meaningful processes (which have ranged in length from hours to months) and meetings (which have ranged from 30 minutes to multiple days). Regardless of how you define success, we will make sure your time, energy, and resources are focused on what your team wants to accomplish.

Keeping It Fun

We’re big fans of courageous conversations and think they are the key to helping organizations identify and step into healthy conflict. When it comes to online or in-person meetings, we don’t like to sit for long and don’t ask our clients to do so either. Creativity, consensus and decision-making flow more naturally and create better decisions when meetings involve a mix of individual, small and large group work.

Focused on Outcome

Great meeting (and process) facilitation requires a few simple and powerful tools. The first is clarity. Clarity on why people are giving their time and energy to come together is foundational for a successful meeting. This understanding allows the entire group to take responsibility and ownership for outcomes, reduces output confusion and allows participants to see their role in next steps.

Another trait of great facilitation is listening. As professional listeners, it is our job to understand what is really being said and use our skills and courage to follow the energy and (real) needs of the group. Equally important, we create spaces of authentic listening and dialogue where individuals, organizations and communities are comfortable so they can share what is important.

Finally, great facilitation demands spaces where attendees feel proximate to one another, whether they be in the same room or a random square on a screen. By creating opportunities for individual and collective reflective learning, we can build spaces that are inclusive, empathetic and focused on common outcomes.
