Subject: Request to join Making the Most of Copilot
Hi xx [manager name],
I would like your approval to take Making the Most of Copilot, a twelve-week program from Four Simple Words that starts November 10. You can read more about it here.
This matters to my role because [xx]
What it is
Twelve weeks on how to use Copilot well, and when not to. There are three courses:
- Collaboration: the +ai Mindset and Copilot in Teams
- Communication: Copilot in Word and Outlook
- Operations: Copilot in Excel and PowerPoint
It runs on a learn-and-return rhythm. I learn in a module, use it in my own work that week, and bring what happened back to office hours.
What I will be able to do
- Better understand what Copilot actually does across Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint, and where it falls down
- Decide when to use Copilot and when to carry the work myself
- Find better ways to do my work, not just faster ways to do the same work
What the team gets back
- A better return on the Copilot licences we already pay for
- Someone who can help us decide where AI belongs in our work, rather than using it because it is there
- I will share what I learn with the team as I go
Time
Tuesdays, November 10, 2026 to February 9, 2027, with a break on December 22 and 29 for the holidays. Six 3 hour modules from 9 am to noon EST, each followed a week later by a 1 hour open office hour from 11 am to noon. That is 24 hours in total, with no homework in between. All sessions are virtual. Every module is recorded, so if I miss one, I can catch up on my own time.
Cost
$3,499 plus HST per seat, paid at registration. If my plans change, the seat can transfer to a colleague at no cost up to 24 hours before the start.
A few things that made me comfortable with it
- I do not need my own Copilot licence. For the length of the program, I join the Four Simple Words Microsoft environment with every feature switched on.
- None of our files are used. Practice happens inside FSW Fitness, a fictional 21-location gym company.
- There are two facilitators in every session. Curt Hammond has spent more than 20 years helping organizations turn big ideas into something a whole team can use, and Sean Yo created the +ai Mindset the program is built on.
- I will finish with the +ai Mindset Copilot Certificate from Four Simple Words, for attending at least five of the six modules.
Could I have your approval to register by xx [date]? If you have questions for the facilitators, Curt Hammond has set aside 15 minutes for managers. You can book a time here.
Thank you for considering it. I am excited about what this could mean for our work.
